Jonathan has been working in and around residential construction in NE Baltimore County for over a decade. He started in the trades, moved into project management, and eventually launched Precision Remodel LLC because he wanted to build the kind of operation he hadn't found working for others — one where the quote is the price, the crew finishes what it starts, and the homeowner isn't kept guessing about what's happening in their own house.

The business is small by design. Jonathan manages a focused number of projects per year — enough to operate sustainably, not so many that project quality becomes impossible to maintain. Every project he takes, he can visit within 20 minutes. That's not coincidence; it's a business constraint he has deliberately built into how Precision Remodel operates.

He holds MHIC license #151439 and is also licensed as a Maryland home inspector — a dual qualification that gives him a distinct perspective on how remodeling decisions made today affect a home's future value, insurability, and structural integrity. He uses that perspective every day.

State-issued license required for all home improvement contractors performing work over $500 in Maryland. To hold an MHIC license, contractors must pass a state exam, carry qualifying insurance, and maintain a clean complaint history. Jonathan's license is active and in good standing. You can verify it on the Maryland DLLR database.

Maryland Licensed Home Inspector

Jonathan holds a separate Maryland home inspection license. This credential requires training in structural systems, mechanical systems, roofing, foundations, and moisture intrusion — the things that become expensive problems when a remodel is done without understanding the full picture of a home. He uses this perspective when evaluating scopes, identifying red flags in walls before they're opened, and advising clients on decisions that affect long-term home value.

Precision Remodel LLC carries general liability insurance protecting your property during construction. Certificates of insurance are provided to clients before any work begins. If you're ever asked by a contractor to waive proof of insurance, that's a red flag — and something Jonathan finds worth discussing in the context of how you evaluate bids.

Workers' Compensation Coverage

All workers on Precision Remodel projects are covered by workers' compensation. If a worker is injured on your property and the contractor doesn't carry workers' comp, you may be liable. Jonathan carries it because it's the right thing to do — and because his subcontractors are required to carry it too.

Most contractors specialize in what's visible. Inspectors are trained to find what's hidden — moisture damage behind tile, undersized joists under a planned island, old supply lines that will fail within five years of new fixtures being installed.

Jonathan's home inspection background means he approaches every renovation with a second layer of evaluation. When he walks a kitchen for a consultation, he's thinking about what's behind the cabinets, not just what the new cabinets will look like. Why We Don't
Work With Everyone

This isn't positioning copy — it's a practical constraint that protects the quality of the work we do for the clients we do take.

We're probably not the right fit if:

  • Your kitchen or bathroom budget is under $25,000 or $16,000 respectively. These are project minimums, not starting points for negotiation.
  • You're located in Baltimore City, Anne Arundel County, Howard County, Carroll County, or Harford County. We don't serve those areas.
  • You need a project started within 4 weeks. Our scheduling process — consultation, proposal review, material ordering — takes time. We don't skip steps to meet an aggressive timeline.
  • You're planning to manage your own subcontractors and want us to provide labor only. Our process is full-scope or it isn't ours.
  • You've already purchased all materials and want a crew to install them. We spec and source materials within our proposals because we warranty the outcome — which requires controlling what goes in.
  • You want the lowest bid. If price is the primary criterion, we're likely not the winner, and we'd rather know that at the beginning than after two hours on-site.
